Hop aboard the Salmon Bake Special at the cruise ship pier for a scenic 10-minute bus ride to the site of the Salmon bake. Your delicious, all-you-can-eat buffet is not limited to Salmon. Enjoy barbecued ribs, salads, breads and desserts served family-style on outdoor picnic tables under a canopy to protect you from the elements - rain or shine. After dining, stroll through the woods or roast marshmallows over the campfire.
Take the short walk to Salmon Falls to view the spawning Salmon (in season) and visit the Raptor Center - home to a variety of birds of prey. there's a bus back to town every 30 minutes, so stay as long as you like.

Relive Juneau's gold rush history and pan for gold beneath the ruins of a gold mine.
Follow the route taken by Joe Juneau and Richard Harris in their search for gold more than 100 years ago. Your prospector-guide transports you by mini-bus up to Gold Creek, the site of the original gold discovery. Stop along the creek and try your hand at panning, with a promise of "guaranteed gold in every pan." Don't forget to pick up your Gold Claim Deed before you leave.
See remnants of the Alaska-Juneau Mine and learn about the history of mining in the area before returning to town.
